I wasn’t prepared for a mine exploration on the trip and didn’t have proper footwear; luckily, for the first few hundred feet, this wasn’t an issue. I was able to successfully skirt the rather large puddles along the way. The growths on the ceilings and walls were mesmerizing; the colours that I could see through the headlamp were beautiful shades of red and pearlescent white. Within about 3 days of crossing through this small valley, a 700 meter landslide came down where I was driving. Had I waited until the long weekend, or even another day or so I would have either been in that landslide, or have missed my opportunity to take this route.
