It is not possible at this point in human existence to have a universal set of ethical standards, In general even trying to have a universal set of ethical standards throughout a province or country is difficult. I also do not think it would be in humanities best interest, while yes it would simplify some things, we would lose the benefit of diversity. It is that exact diversity that helps us continue to improve and prove to ourselves where we are wrong and need to shift our paradigms and evolve.
